Dunluce Castle, County Antrim, Northern Ireland
If Dunluce Castle, pictured here, feels like something straight out of "Game of Thrones," that"s because it is the real-life inspiration for Pyke, the seat of House Greyjoy. The family"s fortunes declined after the Battle of the Boyne in 1690, and with little money for upkeep, the castle gradually fell into ruin.Desktop Version

To show passivity and avoid a fight, individuals often ease through colonies with their heads tucked down to their chests. Independence Day
Independence Day
It"s Independence Day, the day our nation threw off the yoke of British rule. This day commemorates the transfer of legislative sovereignty from the British crown to the Indian Constituent Assembly. Our first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, hoisted the national flag at the Lahori Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi on August 15, 1947. Since then, it has become a tradition for the sitting prime minister to raise the flag and deliver a national address on Independence Day. Over time, the focus of the celebration has shifted from solely nationalism to a broader appreciation of Indian culture and heritage. The Indian diaspora also celebrates this day worldwide, with parades and events, especially in areas with significant Indian populations. In New York and other US cities, it has come to be recognised as "India Day." Independence Day is not just a reminder of our country"s journey towards independence but also the ongoing commitment to build a brighter future for all.Desktop Version

Sperm whale pod surfacing
Ahoy there, giants of the sea! The planet"s 92 whale species are split between baleen whales and toothed whales. Baleen whales use bristle-like mouth parts to filter krill from the water. The sperm whales pictured here, like the other 76 toothed species, use cone-shaped teeth to attack their prey. Unlike baleen whales, they hunt and navigate using echolocation, a method that uses sound to detect the things around them. Sperm whales also happen to have the largest brain of any animal on Earth! A whale"s large brain-to-body mass ratio means that their intelligence is no fluke.Desktop Version

Sleeping koala
This sleepy koala may inspire you to catch some Z"s. These adorable Australian marsupials can sleep up to 20 hours a day, which helps them conserve the little energy they get from their eucalyptus-based diet. Koalas move slowly when awake, spend most of their time tucked into nooks in trees, and have a lower body temperature than other animals of their size. The koala is an arboreal herbivorous marsupial, it is uniquely adapted to its native habitat. Typically found in coastal areas of Australia"s eastern and southern regions, including Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, the koala"s stout, tailless body and distinctive features, such as its large head with round, fluffy ears and dark nose, make it easily recognisable.Desktop Version

Despite the Lahore Declaration in 1999, Pakistan initiated the covert Operation Badri, leading to the Kargil War that lasted for almost 3 months.Desktop Version
Capitol Reef National Park, Utah
Capitol Reef National Park, Utah
Carved by time, wind and water, Capitol Reef National Park showcases rust-hued cliffs and the natural beauty of the American West. President Franklin D. Roosevelt recognised the park"s splendour by designating it as a national monument in 1937, and later it was elevated to a national park in 1971. The park was named after a series of Navajo sandstone domes that were said to resemble the US Capitol Building, while the Waterpocket Fold was referred to as a reef since it obstructed smooth transportation. Known as "a wrinkle in the Earth"s crust," the Waterpocket Fold was carved by eons of erosion. The 161-kilometres-long monocline—a step-like fold—was presumably formed around 50 to 70 million years ago, and is home to towering cliffs, narrow canyons and colourful rock formations.Desktop Version
