February is Black History Month. History writer Carter G. Woodson worked with passion to organize the event with the aim of providing education about the origins, struggles, and achievements of African Americans. The United States memorializes Black history in February. However, in the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands, they honor it throughout the month of October.
