At first glance, today"s image looks more like a drowned woodland than a lake. Bare tree trunks emerge from the water, their reflections stretching across the surface as the Grampians glow in the distance. This is Lake Fyans, a man-made off-stream reservoir at the foot of the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park in Victoria, Australia. Part of the regional Wimmera-Mallee water supply system, it also draws anglers with its brown and rainbow trout and trophy-sized redfin.
