Jane Austen, author of "Pride and Prejudice", is one of the best-known writers to date, so it"s not a surprise that there are multiple festivals named after her that honor her legacy. One such Jane Austen Festival—held in Bath, England, home to the writer between 1801 and 1806—kicks off on September 8 this year, which also happens to be International Literacy Day. The 10-day-long celebration begins with the Regency Costume Promenade, filling the streets with people dressed in costumes appropriate to the British historical period of the early 19th century Regency era.
